Play (Stage Dive book 2) by Kylie Scott

Summary of Play:

Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn't plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn't count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she'd ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn't end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

Overall Thoughts:
I'm so happy to have read this book! I finished it in a couple of hours because I couldn't put it down!
Mal and Anne were perfect for each other! They really did complete one another!

Concerns:
At first it was hard to keep up with Mal. I swear this guy had ADHD. Kylie Scott did a magnificent job at keeping up with his wild and hilarious personality throughout the entire book, but like I said it was at first hard to keep up because he was everywhere but Anne was always patient and never got annoyed with him. Also, how the book ended. It seemed very abrupt but the epilogue really did tie everything together and tied all of the loose ends but when I turned the page and saw epilogue I did have a mini freak out. But no worries because like I said, Kylie clears everything up in the epilogue and doesn't leave us hanging!
Praise:
I loved their personalities. Sure like I said above it was hard to stay on the same wave length as Mal but you get use to it very quickly. One thing I love about the women Kylie Scott writes about, is that they all have a backbone. They stand up for themselves and the ones they care about! They're kickass! This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster, and I will admit that I got teary eyed in certain situations. Not only did Kylie Scott play with my emotions with this novel but she had me cracking up as well! Some of the things Mal said were hilarious! If you read my previous review for the first novel in the series, one of my problems was that I felt like I didn't know how truly David looked, like his body, but I definitely knew how Mal looked in this novel! Kylie Scott didn't disappoint ladies!

Who I Imagined:
 Mal - Chris Brown
Anne - Suki Waterhouse

Favorite Quotes:

“We’ve broken my bed,” I said, stating the obvious.
“In battle, sacrifices must be made, pumpkin.”

***

“What do I taste like?”
“Well, like honey and cream and … I dunno, bread?”
I scrunched up my nose. “Bread?”
“Yes. Sexy bread that I could eat all the time because you are so delicious and full of wholegrain goodness.”
***

“Seriously, honey," I said. "Your manners are appalling. Go fuck yourself.”
