Lead (Stage Dive book 3) by Kylie Scott

As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it's booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble.

Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

Overall Thoughts:
Kylie Scott made me fall in love with her! I was already obsessed when I read the first two books in this series but I'm pretty sure this novel made me addicted. I can't get enough! Kylie switched it up on this novel and made Lead have a realistic feel to it and took you on a ride full of love, humor, frustration and heartache.

Concerns:
I didn't really have any concerns with this book because the things that made me frustrated and made me think "WHY WHY WHY WOULD YOU DO  THIS!?" I still loved.

Praise:
This book had me guessing the entire time on what would happen. I appreciated that Kylie Scott didn't make these two characters fall in love with each other right off the bat like she did in the other two books in the series. It made this love more realistic and I appreciated a different love story other than the "love at first sight". It was a great mix up for the series so not every book would be the same. It just makes you all the more anxious to read her next book to see what new love story she will throw at you because not one love story in this series is the same!

At first Jimmy can not stand Lena and it threw me for a loop because if you read the first two novels in this series the men instantly fall in love with the girl and it's usually the man slowly convincing the woman to take a chance on them. BUT NOT WITH THIS ONE FOLKS! Kylie Scott mixed it up and gave us something new to delve into with this one. I honestly didn't think the two of them were gonna fall in love. This one had me guessing, I thought well maybe Lena will fall in love with someone else and it's going to be a story about her and some other guy? I don't know I just know that this story brought a more realistic feel because you're so unsure of how the outcome will be, just like in real life.

I love how Jimmy is an asshole. I know I know, that's horrible because I'm suppose to be on Lena's side and hate Jimmy for it but I can't! I love it because it goes along with the realistic feel of the story. He had emotion and was moody and it was great! I love how well Kylie Scott constructs her characters and how you can really see the progression of character development in her stories.

Who I Imagined:
I took these images from Kris and Vik Book Therapy Cafe's review on Goodreads because they are literally so perfect. I'm not sure who the people are on these pictures but they perfectly portray Lena and Jimmy. Especially since most people portrayed Lena as super skinny or fit and if you read the descriptions she makes about herself you know that that's not true.

Favorite Quotes:

“I think I’m going to start charging you extra for lies. Someone needs to pay for the stain on my soul.”
-Lena

“If she means something to you, you gotta do the woo, son. You can’t just be trying to stick it in.”
-Mal
***
“There were knives on a rack on the kitchen wall, many shiny bright knives all in a row. It would be so easy just to throw the odd one at him and see what I could hit.”
-Lena

Did you like Jimmy's asshole personality as much as me?
