Scorched Treachery (book 3 of Imdalind) by Rebecca Ethington

While Joclyn is trapped in the tormenting hell of Cail’s mind, the battle around her only continues to grow and spread.
*
Edmund has infiltrated the underground hallways of Prague, guiding the massacre that would end the lives of the last of the great magical race. In her attempts to stop him, Wynifred has been captured and her magic restrained. Chained up in the ancient dungeons of Prague, her fate is left in the hands of her father, who has tried to kill her before.
With Ryland’s screams and Sain’s fragmented sights as her only company, Wyn must rely on something that has been hidden deep inside of her for centuries to help them break free.
*
Ilyan’s whole life has been building up to one purpose. Protect the Silnỳ. He knows what he must do, and he has no doubt in his ability to do so.
But when his father’s magic removes Joclyn’s mind from her body, he is left protecting the shell of the one person he loves. Desperate to find a way to break her free of her prison, he makes a choice. And that one choice changes everything.
Now, Ilyan finds himself bound to Joclyn in a way that he never knew to be possible.
They say that blood is thicker than water, but Black Water burns, and Ilyan’s heart may not be strong enough to keep it pumping through his veins and give the girl he loves back into his brother’s care.
Even if he can, it may not be safe to do so.

Well there I go again finishing this series in a day. What can I say Rebecca Ethington has be ADDICTED TO THIS SERIES!!

I have a love hate relationship with this book. I love it because the story line and characters of this entire series is amazing and I can't see how someone would not love it but I hate it because I was expecting the point of view of Joclyn, since that was the point of view I read in the first two books. Not that it wasn't cool to see through others eyes but from the beginning of the book until the last couple of chapters at the end it was a huge rewind. They went back to retell the stories from Wyn's and Ilyan's point of views. I kept expecting to hear from Joclyn but it wasn't until the last couple of chapters when everything was back from where we left off in the second book.

Don't get me wrong I still love this book and am excited to see what's next I was upset that the book didn't immediately pick up where the second book did. However, don't let this discourage you from reading this book! You find out a LOT of information through Ilyan and Wyn's point of views. Like in this first two books, you get taken on an emotional rollercoaster. I CRIED DURING THIS BOOK and felt like my heart was breaking a few times for these characters.

I can't wait to see what happens next! I love how this series keeps me guessing and anticipating what is going to happen. I seriously recommend this series if you love to be kept on the edge of your seat and if you want to fall in love with some amazingly developed characters.

“She is not mine. I love her more than I have any other. I love her enough that I would rather see her happy than in my possession. My time will come.”

“I would do anything to protect her, to help her, to let her become what she wanted and needed to be. I would give her my heart, if that were required. She had it until it beat its last.”
