Eyes of Ember (book 2 of Imdalind) by Rebecca Ethington

Joclyn is in hiding, hunted by the man she still desperately loves. Ryland is gone, his mind erased, no memory of Joclyn remains. But, Joclyn’s heart desperately begs her to hold out hope. While, in reality the black eyed monster that possesses him, attempts to kill her over and over.

If it wasn’t for Ilyan, Joclyn would be dead by now.

Ilyan. The man who once stalked her, is now Joclyn’s protector, the only thing she has left. He protects Joclyn from the men who seek to end her life, and while she is haunted by dreams where Ryland begs her to break the bond between them.

Ilyan is there. Always there.

Ilyan trains and prepares her, teaching her everything she needs to know in the hope that one day she can avenge Ryland, if not protect herself from him.

And then there is her father.

The man who has never been there, is suddenly responsible for everything. And who he is has made Joclyn into something she never wanted to be.

I'M SO FULL OF EMOTIONS! I swear I can feel 10 million different emotions going through me right now. This book literally pulls you through every single emotion and it's amazing.

I love how everything you think you know is most likely wrong in some way. I like to think I'm pretty good at predicting the outcome of situations in books but this one whatever I think will happen usually doesn't or something else happens and you're kind of left there like "Oh shit, what just happened... oh goodness". AND I LOVE IT. I love having to guess and this book keeps me on my toes!

I do have to say, Joclyn screams and cries a lot during this book, not that it's unreasonable with what she goes through throughout the entire book but I think because I read this whole book in one sitting I noticed it a bunch. Maybe that's just me but it was something that every time it happened it stood out to me a little.

In this book you never know who to root for which is another thing I love because again, it keeps you guessing and keeps you thinking what the hell is about to happen. I love the suspense and mystery of it all. This series just keeps getting better and better I can't wait to read more!

“Bred to die, born to fight, raised to be broken, and always the cause of pain for those I cared about most in the world.”
