Dance With The Devil (Dark-Hunter #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.

Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.

Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyone who gets in my way.

Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.

Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?
MY HEART! I have always been a sucker for the emotionally scarred characters that are angry with the world and from the moment Zarek was introduced into the series I immediately wanted to read his story. I have never felt more angry while reading someones story than I was reading Zareks. His upbringing, hell, his whole 2,000 years of life have been nothing but abuse. Reading the flashbacks of his life as a slave while he was human just made me want to hold him and never let go.

In the book Astrid kept trying to tame the beast that was Zarek but I don't think he needed any taming, he just needed someone to finally show him that he was worth it and that he is worthy of love and affection.

I can go on and on about my love and admiration for Zarek! I loved Astrid too and even though they didn't really emphasize this in the book Zarek helped Astrid a lot with her internal problems as well. It was beautiful watching them help one another even though Zarek was not happy about getting any type of help.

Once again, Sherrilyn outdid herself with another amazing Dark Hunter novel. I'm so in love with this series they just keep getting better and better and I just want to get all of my Dark Hunters together and hold them. Due to the way Artemis picks her Dark Hunters I know that each story will be filled with emotional moments but due to someone walking into their life there will also be hope and light that will fill their once dark existence.

Please keep on writing Sherrilyn because I am not done reading your amazing imagination!
